Products-The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly

Natures Gate Rainwater Organic Lotion-

Umm, the second ingredient is alcohol! This really dried my skin out! I am better off not using lotion, really. The Lemongrass Spice scent is almost  non-existent! I am really disappointed!

Kiss my Face Soaps-

They last forever, are very natural, and don’t smell like perfume. You can get a bar at New Frontier’s or online. They do smell “earthy”, they are made using olive oil.

Charlie’s Soap and Maggie’s Soap Nuts

Both are natural Laundry Soaps. I like both, but use Charlie’s more. Charlie’s is easier to use. With Maggie’s I have to remember how many “nuts” for cold and warm, and with the warm they are thrown away after, but the cold  are used again. Too much to remember with my PBMD (Post Baby Memory Disorder).

Chicken Poop-

Who wouldn’t love a lip balm named Chicken Poop? It is a conversation starter for sure! This stuff is awesome. I use it before I go to bed, it smells like lavender. Really this stuff works great and is only $3-$4. This is the ingredient list :Soybean Oil non-gmo, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Sweet Orange Essential Oil.

Dermae Skincare-

Paraben-free, vegetarian, and they list all of their ingredients. This stuff works great, and is pretty inexpensive. They sell it at New Frontiers, but you can get it cheaper online. They have been in the natural skincare business since before it was cool, the 1960’s!

You can order a sampler from their site for it includes samples of their most popular products, which lets you try before you buy. They also have an organic line.

Clean Well Hand Sanitizer-

I love this stuff! A hand Sanitizer I can use on my DD! It smells like fresh herbs, not alcohol or artificial fragrance. It is kid safe and non-toxic. The bottle lasts for quite some time. I buy it at Target, it is near the other hand sanitizers. They sell a smaller bottle, which I keep in my diaper bag. GREAT product!

Burt’s Bees Chemical-Free Sunscreen SPF 30-

So, I try to use chemical-free stuff as much as possible. I usually love Burt’s Bees, their diaper rash cream and milk bath are great. This sunscreen was horrible. It is orange colored, doesn’t rub in, and I got a sunburn using it! I called BB’s, they took the return, exchanged it for different products, and even sent a free gift. Their customer services was great. This is the only product from BB’s I don’t like so far.

Bumkins Bibs-

I love the waterproof, quick dry material. We used the super bibs until DD figured how to remove them. We now use the sleeved bibs AKA Art Smock, and the Toddler Waterproof Apron, as neither are attached with Velcro. You can wash them in the washing machine, dishwasher (in a pinch), or by hand. Made in the USA, The Valley actually, they are PVC, BPA, Phthalate & Vinyl Free. More expensive than some others, but they last and you don’t have to worry about lead recalls…. Zen Baby sells them here in Flag.

Itzy Ritzy Car Seat Covers-

I am loving my Itzy Ritzy car seat cover. The minky fabric is very soft. I scored one on

Clouds and Stars QuikckZip Sheets-

These are so awesome! So much easier than trying to change regular crib sheets! All new parents should have these if their baby sleeps in a crib.

Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper-

For those parents that decide co-sleeping is best for them, the Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper is great. I used mine for 7 months, ’til I booted DD out of my room. I didn’t plan on co-sleeping, but loved it. I will definitely use the co-sleeper with #2.
