Police looking for carjacking suspect

Flagstaff police are looking for a man that nearly kidnapped a woman during an attempted carjacking Thursday afternoon

According to information from the Flagstaff Police Department, a woman was sitting in her vehicle in the Smokerise neighborhood on the east side of the city when a man approached, pushed her into the passenger seat and started to drive. The victim told investigators that the carjacker drove the vehicle at a high rate of speed before losing control and crashing into a parked car on the 5700 block of Smokerise Drive. The victim, shaken but uninjured, ran to a nearby home and started banging on the door until the resident answered. The suspect fled on foot. He is described as a white male, 20 to 30, 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall with short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans and athletic-type shoes.

Residents who might have information regarding the incident are asked to contact the police department at 774-1414, or Silent Witness at 774-6111.

After a Fall season of relentless high pressure a major pattern shift is eminent and our first truly potent winter storm of the season is due Monday 12/7. The main storm energy originates in the Arctic and will very energetically dive down the West Coast and link up with Pacific moisture for a full blown snow and rain …event. Expect snow to develop during the morning hours Monday with snow levels starting off around 6000′. Heavy snow will develop by late day Monday and dump all through the night with snow levels falling to 5000′. I am anticipating roughly a foot of snow in town in Flagstaff by Tuesday morning with significant accumulations down to 5500′. Snow will taper off by Tuesday midday(tues a.m. snow level ~4000′). Heavy rain expected at lower elevation as well. Peaks will make out big! A break is due Wednesday before yet another storm is advertised by the models for Thurs/Fri. The late week storm is a more traditional Pacific storm as the Big Blue Bummer(Pacific High) breaks down. If this second storm comes through for us we will be taking turns in deep pow really soon….WOOHOO! Think Snow!

One of my biggest concerns living in Flag is the drought. It scares me a bit… Thank goodness moisture is on the way.

I got some Burt’s Bees shampoo/conditioner the Pom/Soy one, and I wasn’t impressed. The shamp. is watery and the conditioner is okay, but by the time I am done w/ my shower. I need to put a bit in my ends again, as they tangle in a few mins, which has never happened before.
