{March 30, 2009}   Before I was a mom….

They say having kids changes you… I have REALLY changed. I would have never thought I would use cloth diapers, BF for 2 years,  raise a veggie child, care about parabens, etc.

  • I used to wear expensive nice clothes, although that tapered off, upon moving to Flag. It really tapered off after having my DD.
  • I used to use department store skincare/cosmetics, mostly Chanel. Now I use paraben, phalate, cruelty free stuff! ;)
  • I used to love Tide, now the though of  all of the chemicals makes me sick! I now love Country Save, Borax, Vinegar, etc.
  • I used to have a clean, I mean OCD clean house, now spending time with my DD is a far bigger priority.
  • I used to eat meat…. Now, ugghhh no way!
  • I used to care more about driving a nice car, now I just want a 4 wheel drive Subie!
  • I used to want a big fancy house for DH and I . Now I want room for all of DD’s cool Plan Toys stuff!
  • I used to care more about what people though of me, and how I looked. Now I care more about how DD looks!
  • I want to save more, spend less.
  • Have less, enjoy what I have more.
  • My hair color is it’s natural color for the first time in over a decade.

These are just a few of the changes I see in myself…

Seriously? Are you effing kidding me??????? The FDA SUCKS, there I said it!

Federal food safety officials warned Monday that consumers should stop eating all foods containing pistachios while they figure out the source of a possible salmonella contamination.

Still reeling from the national salmonella outbreak in peanuts, the Food and Drug Administration said central California-based Setton Farms, the nation’s second-largest pistachio processor, was voluntarily recalling all of its 2008 crop — more than 1 million pounds of nuts.

“Our advice to consumers is that they avoid eating pistachio products, and that they hold onto those products,” said Dr. David Acheson, assistant commissioner for food safety. “The number of products that are going to be recalled over the coming days will grow, simply because these pistachio nuts have then been repackaged into consumer-level containers.” Yahoo News By GARANCE BURKE, Associated Press Writer Garance Burke, Associated Press Writer FRESNO, Calif.

I hope he lives everyday with the guilt of keeping a man from his dying Mother-in-Law. What a power trip he was on. I received a ticket when my then future, BIL was in an accident so bad, he had 3rd degree burns over a goop portion of his body. My DH was crying and the officer made us sit while he wrote the ticket. It was on a deserted freeway at 1am, I was driving fast, but as safe as I could.
